Overview

  • The Experience, Research and Design team in the Simplified Trade Systems Implementation Taskforce takes a human-centred design approach to inform whole of government opportunities to improve the trade experience. The team works closely with other Taskforce teams and partner agencies to understand current trade experience, shape proposed reforms and co-design and test assumptions and ideas with businesses and government.


Role

  • We are looking for a Service Designer to work alongside a highly collaborative and passionate human-centred design team to improve trade experiences for businesses. The individual will have experience working across services, teams and disciplines to advocate for business and government needs and inform decision making.


Role specific tasks

  • Support the planning, facilitation and analysis of user research activities.
  • Strong analysis skills and ability to absorb and analyse a range of information sources including research studies, process diagrams and technical artefacts.
  • Support the shaping of actionable insights to inform decisions and recommendations.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate findings and influence decision making.
  • Design and facilitate workshops with businesses and Government stakeholders. Workshops may include co-design workshops, prioritisation, research share-backs and feasibility discussions.

Essential Criteria

1. Demonstrated knowledge of human centred design and experience applying service design methods and techniques

2. Experience working with various disciplines to solve problems, identify opportunities for improvement and progress shared deliverables

3. Ability to bring together a variety of lenses (e.g. user experience and technical feasibility) to produce actionable insights

4. Demonstrated experience working in a team to plan, conduct and synthesise user research activities to inform decision making and reforms.

Desirable Criteria

1. Knowledge and experience in cross border trade

2. Experience working in agile multi-disciplinary teams
