Overview

The NDIAs Economics and Pricing Branch is seeking a highly organised and detailed focussed candidate to join our team in the leadership role of EL1 Assistant Director. The person has delegated authority and responsibility to lead economic analysis to inform NDIS market interventions and promote greater understanding on the state of the NDIS within the broader Australian care sector. The position will provide the leadership, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for team members working within the positions assigned Work Area. Candidates must have experience and strong writing and presentation skills to translate complex information into easily understandable language.

Duties

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the development and ongoing management on several pricing monitoring dashboards to better understand the NDIS support sector.
  • Informing policy decisions, particularly for pricing and market interventions, by using economic research and analysis to promote better understanding of the state of the NDIS and care sectors.
  • Providing support through economic research and investigation in the development and implementation of the NDIAs Annual Pricing Review and Pricing Strategy.
  • Reviewing and analysing economic data to support evidence-based decision making on complex economic and pricing policies.
  • Planning and leading ad hoc economic analysis and research requests.
  • Working collaboratively and effectively across teams and departments as this work is likely to involve collaboration with other Government Departments and academics.

  • Ability to translate complex economic findings and analyses into succinct policy narratives and advice in plain English for a wide audience.

  • Providing project management oversight for the development of key projects, mainly pricing monitoring dashboard development.

  • Preferable undergraduate qualifications in economics or econometrics.

  • Highly developed Microsoft Excel skills. SAS, R, Microsoft Power BI, or other statistical or visual analytical programs considered useful.
