About our requirements

The Commonwealth requires the services of a Program Scheduler - Advanced Practitioner to supplement the contractor workforce within the Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC). This proposal seeks to engage a Program Scheduler to assist the LNIC Program Management Team with the development & implementation of deliverable and service requirements within LNIC.

The duration of this contract is from March 2023 to March 2024, for a maximum of 230 days. One additional 1 year extension, out to a maximum of two years, will be considered based on Commonwealth requirements.

It is expected that the majority of services delivered under this contract will be at the LNIC facility in Symonston, however interstate travel may be required to support liaison with stakeholders and working groups. These travel events will be forecasted by LNIC, booked by the vendor and reimbursed by the Commonwealth.

A three (3) month probation period will be imposed as a condition of employment for all new contractors.

  1. About the Role

The contractor will be engaged on a time and material basis. Notwithstanding, the following tasks and required skills to achieve them for the duration of this engagement are:

Deliverables

  1. Assist in the creation, implementation and utilisation of LNIC work take-on processes.
  1. Provide scheduling briefings to LNIC Executive and area leads in order to enhance LNIC Program of Work upkeep through imparting key information requirements required to maintain LNIC Schedule.
  1. Undertake analysis with LNIC Program Management Team and key staff to determine resource and time estimates to develop supporting schedules. Build centralised LNIC Schedule which incorporates all deliverables, services and Executive work packages.
  1. Contribute to Program Management Teams development of recommendations in relation to task acceptance and prioritisation.
  1. Under direction from the LNIC Program Manager, fulfil complex planning, scheduling and work status tracking across an integrated workforce.
  1. Develop and maintain an LNIC Program of Work status dashboard to provide LNIC Executive and area leads accurate data as to task and resource status.
  1. Contribute to LNIC strategic planning, through imparting schedule analysis of LNIC work packages.
  1. Other duties as directed by the LNIC Director and/or LNIC Program Manager.

Essential Criteria

1. At least 5 years relevant experience in working with project schedules and experience in scheduling using Microsoft Project Professional.

2. Demonstrated background and experience in large and complex programs and well-developed understanding of contemporary PM methodologies coupled with proven understanding of Project Controls, Scheduling and Risk Management.

3. Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels and across the customer/contractor boundaries and demonstrate skillsets in executive level project reporting and a thorough understanding of project financial management.

4. Clear understanding of the One Defence Capability Model (formerly capability lifecycle (CLC)).

Desirable Criteria

1. Experience in scheduling within an Open Plan Professional (OPP) and Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) environment.

2. Experience with or understanding of Army/Defence Project Management and Project Management Office environments.
