Overview

The Digital Transformation Agency is hiring User Researchers for its Digital Sourcing branch to help build a better BuyICT.gov.au and marketplace experience.

The User Researchers will collaborate with other researchers to conduct studies that help understand user needs, behaviours, and preferences to inform product and service design and development.

Candidates should hold qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience, 4+ years of experience conducting user research, strong analytical skills, and a passion for user-centred design.

Key responsibilities include planning and conducting user research studies using appropriate methods, analysing research data, collaborating with stakeholders and helping to create and maintain a user-centred design process.

Understanding of government procurement practices and working in an Agile team is helpful but not essential.

Essential Criteria

1. Ability and proven experience in planning, designing, and conducting user research studies, including interviews, surveys, and ethnographic research

2. Experience in analysing research data and report findings to the product team and stakeholders

3. Proven track record in collaborating with stakeholders to inform the design and development of products and services within the government industry.
