Services Australia is seeking to identify suitable Candidates to perform the role of Business
Analysts, Systems Analysts and Solution Design Managers up to manager levels to support
the agency to document business requirements, capture business needs, and design, create,
evaluate, and document ICT solutions in new and existing ICT systems.
Business Analysts analyse and integrate information provided by customers, staff,
Information Technology (IT) professionals, executives, and other internal and external
stakeholders. They are responsible for understanding the core needs and requirements of
stakeholders and the agency. Business Analysts often play a central role in aligning the
needs of business units with the capabilities delivered by IT or business activities and may
serve as a translator between stakeholder groups. Business Analysts exercise a degree of
independent judgement and make decisions within defined parameters that rely on skills and
knowledge.
The level of Security Clearance required for a Role will be confirmed at the time of Contract.

Main Duties Duties may include, but not limited to, some or all of the following:
liaise with a range of stakeholders to understand, gather, and analyse core requirements and concerns in line with agency business objectives
implement business analysis approaches that may include specifying team roles, deliverables, analysis techniques or stakeholder communication
identify and recommend improvements for consideration by senior staff, providing strong analysis, validation and justification
increase engagement with a range of key stakeholders to effectively understand cross business functions
facilitate and lead communication across business units and represent the agency at a range of internal and external forums
produce and review business analyst artefacts and documents that may include risk analysis, scope modelling, problem tracking and sequence diagrams
prepare and implement change management plans and/or communication plans
prepare, perform and coordinate brainstorming, workshops, prototyping, observation, or interviews, and confirm or report on results
prepare, prioritise, and organise clear business and stakeholder requirement management plans, including quality assurance strategies
conduct risk analysis and problem tracking to mitigate potential issues
implement performance metrics and reporting tools to effectively measure work, outputs, and objectives
specify and model requirements through analysis using textual statements, matrices, diagrams, and formal models
identify business analyst deliverables, the scope of work for the business analysis activities, resource allocation and estimates for business analyst work
assess and validate solutions to business capability gaps
develop clear and defined work plans and timeframes for self and team in the context of business priorities
