The Data Centricity Project Manager (DCPM) position leads the Data Centricity work

stream of the Warfighting Applications Product Line. The primary role of this position

is to direct and manage the design and implementation of the Data Centricity

Initiatives for the use and management of Data to support the warfighter.

The DCPM assists the WAPLM with overall management, coordination and reporting

of the Data Centricity team within the wider WAPL Project Team.

The successful candidate will have Industry experience, formal training or Defence

Data domain expertise to deliver the key outcomes of the role. This will include

demonstrated experience in the use of contemporary best practice with regards to

Data principles, exchange agreements, frameworks, engineering practices,

approaches, metadata, standards and technologies.

At the technical level they are expected to be able to read and understand technical

documentation describing Defence applications in order to extract pertinent

characterising information. They have the technical abilities to characterise an

applications data flow, input output and how application data is stored. Knowledge

and experience in database systems to understand the contents of internally stored

data would be advantageous.

The candidate will need to maintain awareness of different standards for Common

Data Formats in this domain, as well as known Information Exchange Requirements

between extant Command & Control (C2) applications. The candidate is expected to

develop and maintain a database of data transformation policies/rules to enable the

reliable symmetric transformation between data types.

Responsibilities include:

Leading the Data Centricity workstream including development and

implementation of plans and tools to ensure effective management of scope,

cost, procurement, schedule, risk, resources, performance monitoring,

benefits realisation, communication, information and integration/stakeholder

engagement.

Maintaining program and project planning tools including Jira, MS Project &

Project Central in order to monitor progress against WAPL Data Centricity

Objectives. This includes reporting obligations internally and externally to the

WSO for input into artefacts such as the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).

Work with key stakeholders to draft the data maturity assessment framework

Risk identification, analysis, control and monitoring.

Conduct the data maturity assessment across different roles and node types

Coordinate application discovery and technical examination of C2

Applications to help creation of Data Dictionaries
