Purpose

The FCC Operator plays a crucial role in the centralized monitoring, alarm management, and technical support for BP's critical telecommunication systems across all offshore and onshore assets. The position ensures seamless operation and maintenance of these systems, delivers expert guidance to on-site telecom technicians, and acts as a liaison between various teams to facilitate effective activity planning and issue resolution.

Requirements

  • A degree in Telecommunications is required.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in installation, configuration, commissioning, maintenance, and fault finding for diverse telecommunication systems.
  • Proficient in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience as an offshore telecommunication specialist.
  • Familiarity with planning and executing remote site activities.
  • Ability to develop and modify engineering drawings and work packages independently.


Responsibilities

  • Provide front-line support to telecom technicians at BP-defined remote sites.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting, involve maintenance support, other contractors, and subject matter expertise; coordinate remedial activities and follow up on resolution plans.
  • Monitor, register, and communicate alarms and faults in BPs telecommunication systems.
  • Prepare periodic reports on key performance indicators for preventive maintenance and break-fix activities as requested by BP representative.
  • Prepare trend and gap analysis based on information about registered faults and critical spare parts availability.
  • Ensure integrity of information about telecom assets, components, and support groups in applicable BP work management systems.
  • Act as a facilitator of the interface between site telecom technicians and other BP teams.

Personnel responsibilities:

  • Track materials moving to and from BP-operated and BP-contracted sites for BP equipment.
  • Review and coordinate spare parts availability on worksites at intervals set by BP.
  • Work closely with BP activity integration to arrange mobilization to worksites for maintenance and breakdown visits where applicable.
  • Build a schedule for maintenance campaigns across sites and ensure its integration with BP activity plans for assets.
  • Support remote sites by ensuring safe, timely, and quality execution of identified maintenance.
  • Ensure common working procedures established on sites.
  • Perform peer reviews for BP telecom operations and maintenance procedures when required.
  • Work closely, as defined by BP representative, with other contractors on telecom maintenance to track and ensure that any maintenance activities and issues are monitored and followed.
  • Support BP telecommunication projects, upgrades, and modifications across AGT region.
  • Provide technical support/coaching to telecom technicians on BP worksites and review training demands to meet operating and safety disciplines.
  • Initiate and coordinate assigned technical and maintenance Management of Change tickets.
  • Perform BP engineering data and documentation upon BP representative request.

Technical responsibilities:

  • Installation, commissioning, maintenance, fault finding, configuration, and adjustment of various Telecoms and Network systems, including:
  1. CCTV
  2. GPS Time code distribution
  3. LOS
  4. NMS
  5. Satellite Emergency Phones
  6. Master Intercom
  7. Voice Recorder
  8. Structured Cabling systems
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, troubleshooting plans, and procedures based on vendor manuals and remote support from OEM.
  • Complete detailed performance tests of various Telecoms and Network systems using special test tools.
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of legacy and current communication protocols utilized by CCTV, time code distribution, Line-of-Sight, and Network Monitoring Systems.
  • Utilize advanced troubleshooting and fault-finding skills in RF equipment.
  • Develop detailed installation, maintenance, commissioning, and fault-finding procedures.
  • Utilize experience in digital work management and change management systems.

Terms and Conditions

  • 5/7 working days;
  • 09.00 a.m.-06.00 p.m. working hours (including 1 hour for lunch);
  • Fixed salary.
