About the job Assistant HR Manager
Our client is a leading global retailer specializing in the latest and renowned sports fashion and lifestyle products. Being well-known for their extensive range of footwear, apparel, and accessories, they cater to both athletes and fashion-forward individuals. With a strong brand presence in multiple countries across various continents, our client is known for their premium products from top brands, as well as their exclusive in-house labels. They cater to the needs of their customers through their online presence and physical stores. Currently, they are looking for an Assistant HR Manager to support their organization in the following capacity.
The Assistant HR Manager will be responsible for managing overall HR operations in Thailand, such as recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, payroll, and Visa and work permit. The overall duties and responsibilities of this sought-after position are outlined as follows:
- Act as a sole contributor in the management of HR operations and processes of both office and retail stores in Thailand.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment processes for hiring both office and retail employees.
- Onboard new employees and prepare necessary training or orientation program as needed.
- Responsible for monthly end-to-end payroll processes and payroll reports, as well as ensuring proper payroll audit standard.
- Act as point of contact with payroll vendor, government agencies, and other stakeholders as required.
- Responsible for Visa and work permit applications/ renewal for foreign employees.
- Measure, optimize, and improve employee engagement.
- Act as the contact point for employees, providing support and advice, and dealing with staff disciplinary matters.
- Work closely with the Rewards team on compensation, benefits, and rewards programs.
- Support and prepare periodical performance appraisals and feedback for performance evaluations.
- Support Line Manager with HR projects.
- Maintain an understanding and stay updated on labor laws and ensure HR practices comply with laws and regulations.
- Offboard employees and conduct exit interviews, analyzing turnover rates and developing intervention strategies.
- Manage and follow through on all HR administrative matters.
Qualifications:
- Qualified to a degree level in Psychology or a related field.
- At least 8+ years of working experience in Multinational Retail, FMCG, Fast fashion, or Luxury industry.
- Independent, capable of working as the sole contributor, and ability to perform well under pressure.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Thai.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and tight timelines effectively.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong track record in recruitment (experience/ expertise in retail industry is a plus).
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to maintain positive relationships with employees and management.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of HR principles and labor law.
- Ability to address and resolve HR conflicts efficiently.
