Our client is a multinational cosmetics brand company and is a global market leader in the beauty industry. The company has had a long presence of more than 15 years in the Thailand Cosmetics sector and is well known for their highly popular cosmetics that are sold throughout Thailand in both Modern and General Trade, Specialty Stores and on several eCommerce Market places. Due to a shift in consumer trends and buying habits, our client has done a reorganization and is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their prestigious company in the following role:



The Financial Controller will be reporting to the Finance Director and will be leading the whole finance department in managing budgeting, forecasting, monitoring, and controlling brand sales and spending. The overall duties and responsibilities of this sought-after position are outlined as follows:

  • Developing, overseeing, and managing processes for annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and the ongoing tracking of all opportunities and risks
  • Managing full P&L coverage, which includes responsibility for Gross and Net Sales, Cost of Goods, and Marketing Spend
  • Partnering with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure changes in business assumptions are properly reflected in forecasts and are integrated into analyses to improve business decisions
  • Loading budget and forecast data into the Hyperion Planning system and ensuring integrity and balancing of financial reports
  • Responsible for the Financial Reporting and Month-End Close
  • Preparing month end accruals and journal entries relating to Trade Spend, Marketing, and Operational expenses
  • Working with Shared Service Finance partners to ensure a timely and comprehensive close, with adherence to local reporting requirements to validate alignment against all key controls
  • Assisting with internal and external audit review of results, reconciliations, and controls as required
  • Supervising the preparation of quarterly and year-end audit schedules as necessary
  • Continuously drives improvement in processes, systems, and the internal control environment to enhance reporting and forecasting accuracy and compliance to Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX)

Qualifications:

  • Qualified to degree level in finance or accounting, preferably from a well-known university
  • At least 7+ years of Finance and accounting experience, preferably with last position of Finance and Accounting Manager
  • Work experience within a beauty/retail environment and an auditing background and is a big plus
  • Strong financial planning/analysis, budgeting, financial systems, modeling, analytical reasoning, accounting, and reporting skills to independently build analyses and formulate conclusions
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to take initiative and create opportunities using a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to details
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, intermediate knowledge of Word and PowerPoint (Experience with SAP is a plus)
  • Very good command of both spoken and written Thai and English
