Job Description

  • Manage and coordinate client work as delegated by the partners
  • Deliver excellent quality, timely and professional client service.
  • Liaising with clients and providing legal advice as delegated by the partners
  • Performing legal research and analysis.
  • Checking legal forms/documents for accuracy.
  • Preparing reports and correspondence.
  • Drafting a range of legal documents.
  • Take personal responsibility for achieving target hours, proactively manage billings and debtors and record time in a consistent way.
  • Working with other members of the team to help them perform and achieve their development goals
  • Promote and strengthen the Clients brand.
  • Within the overall strategy, contribute as required to the development and implementation of the firm's business development plans, with the aim of attracting more work from existing clients and developing new client relationships.
  • Support new ventures, identify cross selling opportunities and seek ways to develop our services.
  • Assisting with presenting and preparation of presentations.
  • Take responsibility for a range of non-chargeable activities to build the firm's know-how and external reputation through seminars/writing of articles/presentations etc.
  • Help to motivate, manage and develop support staff in the team.
  • Working with colleagues from other teams and offices on multi-disciplinary and international projects.
  • Taking responsibility for a wide range of tasks/projects as required by the lawyers/partners in the group.

Adhering to all policies, procedures and regulations as required

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience of private client, related corporate, regulatory and/or employee incentive structures
  • Experience of working in an offshore jurisdiction would be beneficial but not essential
  • Knowledge of or a desire to learn about Jersey offshore law
  • Strong technical ability
  • Business development experience and/or motivation to assist with business development
  • The ability to prioritise and manage time effectively

4 to 6 yrs+ PQE with a UK/Jersey/Commonwealth legal
