Responsibilities

• Act as the main liaison between the company and coconut farmers/suppliers.

• Conduct regular field visits to monitor cultivation practices, pest control, fertilizer application, and harvesting methods.

• Provide technical guidance to farmers on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), organic farming, and sustainable farming methods.

• Organize training sessions, field demonstrations, and awareness programs for farmer communities.

• Maintain updated records of farm data, farmer networks, crop yields, and quality standards.

• Assist in the implementation of certification programs (e.g., Organic, Fair Trade, Global GAP) as per company requirements.

• Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, quality control, sustainability) to align field activities with company goals.

Requirements

• Male (due to field travel and cultural considerations in certain rural areas).

• Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plantation Management, or related field.

• Minimum 2 - 3 years of field experience in an agricultural or plantation setting (coconut sector preferred).

• Strong understanding of coconut cultivation and post-harvest practices.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Sinhala/Tamil language proficiency is an advantage).

• Previous experience working with farmer networks or cooperatives.

• Passion for agriculture and rural development.
