About the job Assistant Manager - Quality Control

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and set comprehensive quality objectives, translating them into policies, guidelines, or directives
  • Oversee all quality operational activities, including the implementation of quality gates, and the inspection and analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished products
  • Create and execute the company's quality standards in alignment with customer expectations
  • Offer guidance on various problem-solving methodologies such as 5S, cause and effect diagrams, and scientific approaches to address quality issues encountered during production and related activities
  • Evaluate customer requirements and ensure they are fulfilled
  • Guarantee manufacturing processes adhere to standards on both local and international levels
  • Collaborate with operational staff (Laboratory/Production) to establish and refine procedures, standards, and systems
  • Generate monthly progress reports for the Production Manager, analyzing performance data
  • Enforce quality goals and key performance indicators (KPIs), maintain the Food Safety plan, and support Operations in their pursuit of continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Production, Manufacturing, Materials Science and Engineering or a related field is essential
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a food manufacturing environment with minimum 3 years experience in coconut manufacturing
  • Knowledge of ISO 22000, HACCP, FSSC 22000, IFS, BRC, and Organic Certification is essential
  • Certificate in Production and Inventory Management or a Certificate in Operations Management also helpful
  • Candidates should be male, aged below 45, and willing to work long hours with a demonstrated commitment to their responsibilities, even under pressure
  • Excellent written & spoken communication skills both in English & Sinhala with positive attitude
