About the job Assistant Storekeeper
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in receiving, checking, and verifying incoming materials against invoices, purchase orders, and delivery notes.
- Ensure accurate labeling, tagging, and safe storage of materials in designated areas.
- Maintain up-to-date stock records and assist in conducting regular stock counts and audits.
- Issue materials and supplies to departments as per approved requisitions.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to the Storekeeper/Manager.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the store/warehouse.
- Comply with safety guidelines, handling equipment and materials properly.
- Support in preparing reports related to stock movements, consumption, and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with procurement, finance, and other departments for smooth operations.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Storekeeper/Manager.
Job Requirements
- Higher diploma or equivalent; diploma/certificate in Storekeeping, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- 12 years of experience in storekeeping, warehousing, or inventory management (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of inventory control practices and record-keeping.
- Familiarity with MS Office and inventory management software is an advantage.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling stock.
