About the job Senior Manager, Financial Control & Grants
The Senior Manager, Financial Control & Grants is responsible for financial accounting, treasury, fixed assets, grant accounting and statutory reporting, ensuring integrity of financial records and compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain integrity of the general ledger and financial records.
2. Treasury & Cash Management
- Oversee cash flow management, banking and investments.
- Monitor liquidity and funding requirements.
- Support treasury planning and reporting.
3. Grant & Fund Administration
- Oversee grant accounting, utilisation monitoring and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with grant conditions and funding requirements.
- Strengthen governance over restricted and designated funds.
4. Fixed Assets Management
- Oversee fixed asset accounting and asset lifecycle management.
- Ensure accurate depreciation and grant accretion accounting.
- Support asset verification and control processes.
5. Audit, Compliance & Controls
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strengthen financial controls and governance.
6. Team Leadership & Transformation
- Lead GL, grants and fixed assets teams.
- Support ERP implementation, chart of accounts redesign and finance transformation initiatives.
- Develop team capabilities and succession plans.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Accountancy, Finance or equivalent.
- Minimum 10-12 years relevant experience.
- Strong financial accounting, treasury, grants and audit experience.
- Experience leading ERP implementation, finance transformation or chart of accounts redesign projects.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and internal controls.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with financial reporting tools, dashboards and data analytics would be advantageous.
