Registered General Nurse and Registered General l Nurse for our Nursing Home an 65-bed facility

SPONSORSHIP PROVIDED!

  • Available Hours:36 hours per week
  • Paid breaks
  • Day shifts,12-hour shift
  • Pay rate: £21.25 per hour
  • Location: Leeds

Located in the centre of Leeds,our  Care Home is a purpose-built, 62-room care home with an excellent outdoor area for residents to enjoy. Staff offer 24/7 nursing care, 24/7 residential care, end of life care, mental health care and physical disability care. Length of stay at this care home includes long-term stay and respite care, giving residents the attention and support they need for however long is required.

About the Role:

Some of the responsabilities:

  • Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
  • Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress.
  • Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.
  • Evaluate and respond to changes in patient condition and needs.
  • Deal proactively and effectively with suggestions and complaints from patients and their families / carers.
  • Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary team.
  • Participate in regular clinical and non-clinical meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
  • Prioritise nursing duties and delegate appropriately and effectively within the shift co-ordination Framework, working as nurse in charge as required, ensuring as far as reasonable practicable a safe environment.
  • Develops and maintains a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests, enquiries and suggestions.
  • Helps to promote and to maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient / relatives and carers.
  • Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice at least Monthly.
  • Work in accordance with safeguarding adult and children policies and requirements.
  • Ensure the requirements of the Mental Health, Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards are met.
  • Planning, implementing, and supervising the provision of quality care
  • Maintaining the required medical documentation
  • Upholding residents rights to privacy, dignity and choice
  • Reporting any ill health among the residents and request professional visits when necessary
  • Familiarising yourself with, and strictly adhering to, company policy and procedure and Care Inspectorate guidelines
  • Abiding by the Nursing and Midwifery Councils (NMCS) code of professional conduct

Please note we are only accepting candidates with a UK active PIN, experience in the UK at least 1-2  years in a Nursing home 

The main requirements for this role are:

  • Must be a registered nurse (current PIN number with NMC)
  • Right to work in the UK 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine desire to work with the elderly
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Someone with a calm nature who can deal with, and defuse, challenging situations
  • Knowledgeable about assessment, admission and discharge processes
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and committed to working within its Codes of Practice.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations
