The Performance & Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the organization adheres to internal policies and external regulations, as well as monitoring and improving operational performance. This role involves conducting audits, assessing compliance risks, developing performance metrics, and implementing corrective actions to ensure organizational efficiency and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement:

    • Develop and implement compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal standards and internal policies.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections to monitor compliance with regulations and internal policies.
    • Identify and assess areas of compliance risk; develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
    • Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations and communicate any changes to the appropriate departments.
  2. Performance Management:

    • Develop and implement performance metrics to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of organizational processes.
    • Analyze performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and success.
    • Work with department heads to set performance goals and develop action plans to achieve them.
    • Prepare and present performance reports to senior management.
  3. Training and Development:

    • Design and deliver training programs on compliance and performance improvement.
    • Educate staff on new policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide guidance and support to departments in developing their own compliance and performance initiatives.
  4. Policy Development and Implementation:

    • Assist in the development and updating of organizational policies and procedures.
    • Ensure that policies and procedures are effectively communicated and enforced throughout the organization.
    • Monitor the implementation of new policies to ensure they are followed correctly.
  5. Investigations and Corrective Actions:

    • Investigate incidents of non-compliance and performance issues.
    • Develop and oversee the implementation of corrective actions to address non-compliance and performance gaps.
    • Report findings and corrective actions to senior management and relevant regulatory bodies as required.
  6. Reporting and Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities, performance metrics, and training sessions.
    • Prepare comprehensive reports on compliance status and performance outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ensure documentation is in line with regulatory requirements and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in compliance (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)) is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a compliance, audit, or performance management role.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and guide others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with compliance management software.
