REKO DIQ MINE : SITE IT LEAD JOB / ROLE DESCRIPTION

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

As the site IT lead for Reko Diq Mine, the function of the role is to lead the provision of IT service and project management services to the site, and operational team leadership to site IT team. This requires an excellent mix of technical, IT operations and project management capabilities coupled with strong people and stakeholder management skills.

The site IT lead understands the critical role technology plays in mining and aims to deliver world-class service and project execution. The role involves coordinating local team and global IT resources to deliver infrastructure support and delivery services as well as management and execution of IT projects and initiatives. It also acts as the key IT contact to the mine site leadership team and our clients business stakeholders and IT teams, to drive user satisfaction and be a credible business partner to the mine.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a proactive, reliable, and trusted business partner to the mine
  • Day-to-day IT support services
  • Managing and developing the Reko Diq IT team
  • Accountable for incident resolution and service support
  • Responsible for any user related incident or service request escalation
  • Managing mine IT services according to business / service level expectations
  • Ensuring expected performance, capacity, and availability of mine site IT infrastructure
  • Implementation of required infrastructure solutions to support the mine site needs
  • Support the build and maintenance of site compute & storage infrastructure
  • Support the implementation of WAN, LAN, WLAN, and related network infrastructure
  • Anticipate mine site performance requirements by proactively initiating IT evolutions
  • Support standardization and consolidation projects to improve infrastructure operations efficiency
  • Identify, support and drive IT innovations, standards, and best practice IT solutions
  • Manage external service provider relationships
  • Continuously assess technologies for cost saving opportunities
  • Maintain security centric mindset for all related technologies

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or engineering and/or equivalent work experience
  • 5-10 years IT experience in mining or similar industry
  • People Management & Team Development
  • IT Service Management ITIL v3/4 Fundamentals
  • Project management skills PMP, Prince2 or similar
  • Vendor Management, budget, and financial acumen
  • Cloud & Storage MCSE, CCNA or similar
  • Hardware Cisco UCS, Dell
  • Strong sense of urgency, adaptability, flexibility, and resourcefulness
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication
