Overview:
Charlco Pty Ltd is seeking reliable and hardworking Fruit Farm Workers to support daily farming operations. This role involves performing a range of routine tasks associated with the cultivation, maintenance, and harvesting of fruit crops. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high-quality produce and efficient farm operations while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol, inspect, and report on the condition of crops to ensure optimal growth and early identification of issues
• Plant trees, seeds, seedlings, roots, bulbs, tubers, and vines using hand tools and farm machinery
• Prepare and cultivate soil, and carry out crop maintenance activities such as thinning, weeding, hoeing, pruning, and training of plants
• Apply pesticides and other treatments to control weeds, pests, and diseases in accordance with safety guidelines
• Operate and monitor irrigation systems to ensure adequate water supply for crops
• Install and maintain plant supports such as trellises, and protective structures including netting, greenhouses, and fencing
• Harvest produce including fruit, nuts, and vegetables according to quality standards, removing damaged or overripe items
• Sort, grade, bunch, pack, and prepare produce for storage or transport
• Load harvested produce into transport vehicles safely and efficiently
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of farm infrastructure, including sheds, fences, and irrigation systems
• Operate and maintain general farm machinery used for cultivation, fertilising, spraying, and harvesting
• Use data collection tools and farm technology systems to support farm operations

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in fruit farming or horticulture (preferred but not essential)
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments
• Basic understanding of crop care, irrigation, and pest control practices
• Ability to operate farm machinery and tools safely
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Good teamwork and communication skills

Work Environment:

This role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and requires physical labour, including lifting, bending, and repetitive tasks.

ANNUAL SALARY: $76K - $86K
