About the Role

Nutricula Psychology is seeking a suitably qualified and registered Psychologist to join our team in Andergrove, Queensland.

The successful applicant will provide evidence-based psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment and therapeutic intervention to children and adolescents experiencing a range of psychological, emotional, behavioural and developmental difficulties. The role involves working collaboratively with clients, parents and caregivers, families, other professionals and members of the clinical team to assess individual needs and develop, implement and evaluate appropriate treatment plans.

The position is suited to a psychologist who is committed to ethical, evidence-based practice and the delivery of high-quality psychological services to children, young people and families.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and consultations with children, adolescents, young people and families, including gathering relevant developmental, cognitive, behavioural and emotional information.
  • Administer, score and interpret psychological assessments in accordance with professional standards.
  • Formulate presenting concerns and diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Deliver and evaluate individual and, where appropriate, group psychological interventions within scope of practice, including CBT, mindfulness-based, interpersonal and emotion-focused approaches.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated.
  • Prepare timely, accurate psychological reports, clinical notes and other required documentation.
  • Liaise with parents, caregivers, families, supervisors and other health professionals regarding assessment, formulation, treatment and case management.
  • Maintain accurate clinical and administrative records and uphold confidentiality, privacy and professional requirements.
  • Practise ethically, professionally and with cultural responsiveness, maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Participate in professional supervision, continuing professional development and activities required to maintain professional competence and registration.
  • Comply with relevant Australian legislation, ethical requirements and professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification: A recognised tertiary qualification in Psychology that meets Australian requirements for registration and professional practice.
  • Professional registration: Current registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia through AHPRA, where applicable.

Skills and Professional Capabilities

  • Psychological assessment: Knowledge and practical skills in selecting, administering, scoring and interpreting evidence-based psychological assessments.
  • Psychological intervention: Ability to apply evidence-based psychological interventions and therapeutic approaches appropriate to clients' needs and circumstances.
  • Formulation and treatment planning: Ability to undertake psychological formulation, identify needs, establish treatment goals, and develop, implement and review individualised intervention plans.
  • Client and family practice: Ability to work effectively with children and/or adolescents and their families, caregivers and support networks. Experience in this area is highly regarded.
  • Communication and reporting: Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including clear communication of psychological information and preparation of professional reports.
  • Collaborative practice: Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, caregivers and multidisciplinary health, education and community professionals.
  • Professional and ethical practice: Sound knowledge and application of professional, ethical and legislative requirements, including confidentiality, consent, privacy, boundaries, record keeping and duty of care.
  • Professional judgement and autonomy: Ability to work independently within scope of practice and seek appropriate supervision or consultation for complex or high-risk matters.
  • Professional development: Commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective practice, supervision and evidence-based practice.
  • Professional knowledge: Ability to apply contemporary psychological theory, research and professional knowledge to assessment, formulation, intervention and clinical decision-making.
  • Documentation: Ability to maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records in accordance with professional, organisational and legislative requirements.
