FITTERS, MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIANS AND ELECTRICIANS

SALARY $90K - $120K yearly

FULL-TIME PERMANENT

PumpNSeal specialises in the supply of premium mechanical engineering products, parts, and servicing for rotating and static equipment across a range of industrial activities. We deliver tank to tank solutions that reduce whole-of-life costs through improved equipment efficiency and reliability, reduced energy consumption, and reduced downtime.

We currently have positions available for Fitters (General), Mechanical Engineering Technicians, and Electricians.

Fitters (General)

1. Mechanical Expertise:

a. Utilise mechanical skills to diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse range of earthmoving machinery and attachments.

2. Hydraulic Systems Installation:

a. Install auxiliary hydraulic systems to earthmoving equipment, ensuring functionality, safety, and compliance with industry standards.

3. Electrical Control Systems:

a. Demonstrate proficiency in installing and calibrating electrical control systems and components for various construction machinery.

4. Documentation Compliance:

a. Pay meticulous attention to installation documents, ensuring accurate and compliant execution of tasks.

5. Quality Workmanship:

a. Uphold a commitment to detail and quality workmanship, particularly when working on new machines.

6. Overtime and Travel:

a. Exhibit flexibility in working overtime and being available for travel when necessary to meet project demands.

7. Independent Work:

a. Work both as a collaborative team member and independently, displaying a proactive approach to problem solving.

8. Continuous Learning:

a. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt, staying current with industry trends and technological advancements.

Mechanical Engineering Technicians

1. Mechanical Expertise:

a. Apply mechanical skills to install, diagnose, repair, and maintain a range of earthmoving machinery and attachments.

2. Hydraulic Systems Installation:

a. Install and troubleshoot auxiliary hydraulic systems on earthmoving equipment, ensuring they meet industry standards for functionality and safety.

3. Electrical Control Systems:

a. Install, calibrate, and maintain electrical control systems and components for various construction machinery, ensuring proper functionality.

4. Documentation Compliance:

a. Maintain detailed installation documents and service records, ensuring tasks are performed accurately and in compliance with industry standards.

5. Quality Workmanship:

a. Commit to high-quality workmanship, focusing on detail and precision, especially when dealing with new machinery.

6. Preventative Maintenance:

a. Develop and implement maintenance plans to prevent equipment breakdowns, optimising the efficiency and reliability of mechanical systems.

7. Troubleshooting and Repairs:

a. Diagnose and repair mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, ensuring machinery is returned to optimal working condition.

8. Parts Management:

a. Monitor the availability of parts, replenishing supplies as needed to ensure continuous operation and maintenance readiness.

9. Supervision and Training:

a. Organise and supervise inspection and maintenance activities, and train co-workers on the safe and efficient use of machinery and equipment.

10. Tool and Equipment Selection:

a. Select appropriate tools and equipment for tasks, estimating material costs and quantities, and analysing data to support decision-making.

11. Overtime and Travel:

a. Demonstrate flexibility in working overtime and travelling when necessary to meet the demands of various projects.

12. Continuous Learning:

a. Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements, showing a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Electricians

1. Electrical Systems Installation:

a. Install, maintain, and repair electrical control systems and components on a range of construction and industrial machinery.

2. Wiring and Troubleshooting:

a. Perform electrical wiring, testing, and fault-finding to ensure compliance with Australian Wiring Rules and relevant industry standards.

3. System Integration:

a. Collaborate with mechanical technicians and fitters to integrate electrical systems into equipment, ensuring seamless operation.

4. Regulatory Compliance:

a. Adhere to electrical codes, safety standards, and regulations as specified by Safe Work Australia and relevant state authorities.

5. Preventative Maintenance:

a. Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to identify and resolve issues early.

6. Breakdown Response:

a. Respond promptly to electrical emergencies or system failures, minimising downtime and ensuring safe, efficient repairs.

7. Documentation and Records:

a. Maintain detailed records of electrical work, including system specifications, maintenance logs, and compliance

documentation.

8. Technical Proficiency:

a. Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints in line with competency and industry standards.

9. Safety and Standards Knowledge:

a. Apply a strong understanding of electrical codes, risk management, and safe working practices in all environments.

10. Use of Diagnostic Tools:

a. Utilise electrical testing instruments and diagnostic equipment to assess system performance and identify faults accurately.

Qualifications (All Applicants)

Relevant trade certification or equivalent relevant industry experience.

Experience and Technical Skills

1. Minimum of two years of experience in a similar work environment.

2. Preferred previous experience in hydraulics, including knowledge of hydraulic hose and fittings.

3. Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.

4. Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent diagnosis and fault-finding abilities.

5. Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining high standards.

6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
