is a locally owned mobile mechanical services business operating from McCullys Gap, NSW since January 2020.
We specialise in the service, repair and overhaul of heavy diesel machinery and equipment, including component rebuilds, air-conditioning systems, and mobile hydraulic hose fabrication.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a qualified Fitter (General) to join our team servicing clients across the Hunter Valley Coalfields.

Position Overview

This role involves performing mechanical fitting, assembly, maintenance and repair of heavy machinery and plant equipment both in the workshop and on client sites.
It suits an experienced tradesperson who enjoys varied field service work, problem-solving, and delivering quality mechanical solutions.

Key Responsibilities 

Interpret and work from engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances to determine fitting and assembly
requirements.

Fit and assemble metal parts, sub-assemblies and mechanical components to produce and maintain machines and
equipment.

Use precision measuring instruments (e.g. micrometers, gauges, dial indicators) to verify dimensions, clearances and
accuracy.

Form, grind, cut, drill, thread, bore and shape metal components using machining and hand tools.

Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.

Diagnose faults, service, maintain and overhaul mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and fluid power systems.

Erect, align and install mechanical plant and assemblies on site.

Perform routine and emergency breakdown repairs on mining and construction equipment.

Maintain records of work performed and ensure compliance with company and client safety standards.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Trade qualification Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade (Fitting) or equivalent recognised qualification or
relevant experience.

Minimum 3 years experience as a mechanical fitter in heavy industry, mining, construction or mobile plant environments.

Strong technical and mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery, hydraulics and diesel equipment.

Current Drivers Licence (essential).

Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

Preferred / Desirable

Current Order 43 Medical and Working at Heights certification.

Experience with field service or mobile repair work.

Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively with clients.
