EMPLOYMENT TYPE: FULL-TIME PERMANENT
SALARY: $110,000 TO $140,000 YEARLY

Purpose of role

As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for national procurement activities, processes, and sourcing of goods and services for the business to ensure the continuous supply and availability of materials whilst complying with planning and control system expectations. You will ensure products and services are delivered within timeframes and at the most cost-effective price to meet or exceed internal and external customer expectations. The role will have key interactions with other teams to standardize process and strategic business planning.

Main duties and responsibilities

Core objectives include:

  • Assisting in production planning and scheduling of work orders
  • Monitoring sales data and stock levels
  • Studying trade, manufacturers, and market information to keep informed of changing market conditions
  • Negotiating purchase and supply arrangements with suppliers
  • Assisting in designing and implementing pricing by monitoring and updating cost of goods
  • Liaising with management on long-term purchasing planning
  • Establishing working plans according to seasonal and budgetary requirements
  • Anticipating customer trends and determining quantity and quality of goods to be purchased
  • Inspecting, comparing, and selecting raw materials by quality and specifications
  • Receiving samples from raw material and packaging suppliers
  • Researching and evaluating potential suppliers
  • Comparing and evaluating offers from suppliers
  • Negotiating contract terms of agreement and pricing
  • Tracking orders and ensuring timely delivery
  • Reviewing quality of purchased products
  • Entering order details regarding suppliers, quantities, prices into internal warehouse management database
  • Maintaining updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices
  • Preparing reports on purchases, including cost analysis
  • Monitoring stock levels and place orders as needed
  • Coordinating with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage
  • Following and enforcing the companys procurement policies and procedures
  • Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Maintaining good supplier relations and negotiating contracts

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

  • Degree level (desirable) or formal qualifications in procurement is well regarded

Experience

  • 5+ years of Purchasing / Procurement / Supply planning experience required
  • Ability to build strong internal and external business relationships
  • Experience dealing with and managing International Suppliers required
  • Proven ability to build strong internal and external business relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in developing supplier relationships with a focus on supplier performance
  • Experience with Warehouse Management and Enterprise Resource Planning systems
  • Proficient user of Xero Accounting Software & Microsoft Office Applications
  • Well-developed analytical skills
  • Experienced in creating financial reports and contract cost analysis
