About the job Application Support Engineer
Job Purpose
To ensure continuous availability and optimal performance of business-critical applications by developing, supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining software systems. The role bridges development and operations, helping eliminate or minimize disruptions to business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in application development projects and fix bugs in collaboration with the development team, ensuring system stability and performance
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for applications, working closely with Helpdesk and development teams
- Handle incidents, proactive alerts, change requests, and service requests in alignment with enterprise architecture, production processes, and organizational standards
- Resolve incidents and requests within agreed service levels; provide workarounds when necessary to reduce business impact; escalate appropriately for faster resolution
- Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders providing timely updates and follow-ups
- Create and update documentation regarding application functionality, support procedures, and troubleshooting in the knowledge base
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proficient in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
- Experience working with C#, REST APIs, .NET Core, WPF, WCF, and .NET Framework
- Strong experience with WPF and MS SQL Server
- At least 3 years in software development
- At least 2 years in production support (application, software, or technical support)
- Working knowledge of relational (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with incident, problem, and change management processes; understanding of ITIL best practices
- Ability to work with cloud hosting and container-based solutions (e.g. Azure, Kubernetes, Service Fabric)
Preferred / Plus
- Experience in the supply chain, shipping, or logistics domain
- Exposure to application integration, testing, and release management
- Familiarity with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools
- Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies
- ITIL Foundation certification would be a plus
