Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Automation Engineer with strong hands-on experience in building, maintaining, and enhancing workflow automations using Microsoft Power Platform, Azure Functions, and SharePoint. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting mission-critical automation processes, integrating Python-based backend components, and ensuring all solutions meet security and governance standards. This is a long-term engineering role focused on sustaining and extending enterprise automation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize existing automation workflows built using Microsoft Power Automate and Azure Functions.
- Enhance and extend current business workflows (procurement, billing vetting, document routing, OCR processes, rate retrieval, etc.).
- Design, build, and implement new automation solutions based on evolving business requirements.
- Develop and maintain Python-based Azure Functions for backend logic, data extraction, and OCR-related workflows.
- Integrate workflow automations with SharePoint lists, libraries, and structured data repositories.
- Conduct performance tuning, reliability improvements, and compliance reviews for all deployed workflows.
- Prepare documentation including architecture diagrams, process flows, and technical specifications.
- Support and train operations teams on automation usage, monitoring, and administration.
- Ensure all automation solutions comply with data governance, security, and audit requirements.
Technical Skills & Expertise

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform:

- Deep understanding of SharePoint data structures, permissions, and integration models.
- Proficiency in developing Azure Functions, ideally using Python.
- Experience with OCR, document processing, and data extraction (Azure Cognitive Services or similar).
- Familiarity with automation best practices, including error handling, logging, auditing, and workflow governance.
Preferred Experience
- Background working with procurement, financial approvals, or document processing workflows.
- Experience in automation within regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, government).
- Understanding of Azure cloud security practices.
- Exposure to CI/CD, DevOps, and automated deployment pipelines (nice to have).

Experience & Qualifications
- 4+ years of combined experience in workflow automation, cloud engineering, or related areas.
- Proven experience delivering solutions on Power Platform and Azure.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldor equivalent practical experience.
