Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Workshop Supervisor / Bodyshop Coordinator to manage daily repair workflows, resource allocation, and technician scheduling across our dealership operations in Anuradhapura, Yakkala, and Ehiliyagoda. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing floor operations, tracking vehicle repair stages, and ensuring optimal bay utilization for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and electric vehicles (EVs).

This role plays a critical part in driving workshop throughput, minimizing vehicle turnaround times, and maintaining high operational efficiency while bridging the communication gap between technical teams, parts departments, and service advisers.

Responsibilities

  • Workflow Scheduling & Bay Management (50%): Assign mechanical, electrical, or body repair tasks to technicians based on workload, skill level, and delivery targets. Monitor real-time progress across all service bays to identify bottlenecks and maintain smooth vehicle movement throughout the workshop floors.
  • Operational Coordination & Quality Control (50%): Supervise technical discipline, ensure correct usage of workshop tools, and cross-coordinate with the spare parts department for urgent component releases. Conduct mid-repair inspections to guarantee compliance with factory standards before vehicles proceed to final quality testing.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in automotive workshop supervision, floor coordination, or service operations.
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical, electrical, or body repair workflows.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate, and direct a team of mechanics, technicians, and floor assistants.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain composure in a high-volume, fast-paced service environment.
  • Fluency in Sinhala and English; Tamil language skills are an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Diploma or NVQ qualification in Automobile Engineering or Workshop Operations.
  • Prior experience utilizing Dealer Management Systems (DMS) for job-tracking and bay status updating.
  • Familiarity with modern EV service floor safety requirements and high-voltage bay isolation practices.
