Summary
Able to scrub BOM, review Make/Buy list, review drawings, extract end product dimension and estimate packaging dimension. Provides competitive quotations to customers by utilizing cost model and market pricing knowledge for the preparation of costed BOM for projects. Coordinates bid strategy with sales team and interprets customer requirements to offer solutions that maximize profitability and add value for the customer. Ensures consistent, competitive and profitable pricing. Communicates and practices pricing strategies in support of ongoing sales efforts.
Position Responsibilities
1) Participate in new RFQ activities with customer during early design stage.
2) BOM scrubbing to determine Make/Buy list.
3) Understand and clarify customer documentation ready for kickoff.
4) Communicate with customer to understand their quotation and manufacturing needs to fulfill customer requirements.
5) Parts sourcing for New Bidding Project and Sustaining Projects on all Mechanical Parts.
6) Review, compare and verify the quotations from suppliers to achieve a most competitive pricing.
7) Collaborate with SDE (IPO) to identify competent suppliers who can provide competitive material pricing and meeting expected service level.
8) Support PFS Sourcing Work Order for sustaining business.
9) Identify the opportunity and work on the cost reduction (CR) for existing parts with suppliers and internal.
10) Work with supplier for FAIR submission before part delivery.
Qualifications
1) Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required. Minimum of 3 years of experience in sourcing or related role.
2) Proven ability to analyze various sources of information and familiarity with production cost modeling and margin analysis.
3) Experience maintaining accuracy of quoting models and information in the operating system to ensure accurate cost and quoting programs.
4) Must be very detail oriented and be able to efficiently organize information.
5) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
