Simpaisa is looking for a proactive and relationship-driven Business Development Executive to support merchant acquisition, account management, and partnership growth. The role involves engaging with merchants, supporting onboarding and operations, and working closely with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery. This position is ideal for someone with exposure to fintech, payments, or financial services who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Merchant & Client Management
- Manage assigned merchant accounts and maintain regular communication to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with merchants to support retention and account growth.
- Address merchant queries related to settlements, reconciliation, and operational processes in a timely manner.
Onboarding & Coordination
- Support merchant onboarding activities, including documentation collection and coordination with Compliance teams.
- Follow up with Technical teams to ensure smooth integration and go-live processes.
- Assist in resolving onboarding or operational bottlenecks.
Business Development & Growth
- Assist in identifying and engaging new merchants through outreach, referrals, and networking.
- Support commercial discussions, prepare proposals, and coordinate contract execution.
- Track merchant performance, transaction volumes, and identify growth opportunities within existing accounts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Finance, Compliance, and Technology teams to ensure effective service delivery.
- Coordinate internally to ensure merchant requirements are met efficiently and accurately.
Reporting & Tracking
- Maintain records of merchant activities, performance metrics, and follow-ups.
- Provide regular updates and reports on assigned accounts and business development activities.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in fintech, banking, payments, sales support, or account/relationship management.
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong communication, coordination, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple merchant accounts and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Basic understanding of payment flows such as wallets, bank transfers, and card payments (preferred).
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
