We are hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician, with both mechanical and electrical experience, to join our team. This position reports to our Maintenance Supervisor and hours are 1:00pm-9:30pm Monday through Friday.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment to ensure safe, proper, and efficient function. Document associated tasks and parts used/replaced.
  • Perform electrical duties including lighting, switches, replacing motors, etc. Identify and diagnose electrical problems with control systems. Repair or replace components as needed.
  • Identify problems with equipment and complete repairs with minimal downtime or supervision.
  • Make replacements, prototype parts and fixtures by machining and fabrication.
  • Offer technical support to Engineering and Production about equipment maintenance, process improvement, and overall manufacturing excellence.
  • Assist in the storage and management of replacement parts and components.
  • Analyze, install, and maintain water, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Make repairs and replace worn or defective parts such as gauges, valves, pressure regulators and piping.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to existing equipment components and systems.
  • Follow all Safety policies and procedures. Offer suggestions to better protect all employees.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in an industrial environment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including the use of common hand tools and testing devices.
  • Experience with lathes, mills, and basic welding.
  • Effective use of measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, thread gages, etc.
  • Read and understand mechanical drawings, blueprints and hand drawings. Read and understand electrical diagrams and schematics.
  • Understand basic math including fractions, decimals and measurement conversions.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects at once.
  • Strong motivation to get things done, solve problems and learn.
  • Hold firm values and ethics.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Walk, push, pull, lift, reach overhead and bend to the floor, kneeling, climbing, squatting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • Good manual dexterity to handle objects and work on equipment and with tools.
  • Exert 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or
  • Exert 20-50 pounds of force frequently, and/or
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • Ability to read machine dial gauges, blueprints and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts. Read a computer screen and printed documents including work orders and diagrams and schematics. Operate motorized equipment, including a forklift.
  • Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
  • Ability to read/comprehend, write, perform calculations, communicate orally, reason, and analyze.
  • Working conditions employee may be subject to:

-high noise levels from operating machines

-physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts

-breathing fumes, dust and mist

-skin exposure to oils and cutting fluid

-work in confined quarters if needed
