Job Summary

The Procurement Officer (Cosmetics Section) is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of cosmetic and personal care products within the pharmacy. The role ensures optimal stock availability, cost efficiency, supplier compliance, and alignment with market demand and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and procure cosmetic and personal care products from approved local and international suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, credit terms, discounts, and supply agreements to achieve cost efficiency and profitability targets.
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, purchase orders, and supplier databases.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, delivery timelines, and reliability.
  • Conduct market research to identify new cosmetic trends, brands, and sourcing opportunities.
  • Work closely with pharmacy retail and sales teams to forecast demand and plan procurement needs.
  • Ensure all procured products meet regulatory, quality, and pharmacy standards.
  • Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to ensure proper storage and stock rotation (FEFO/FIFO).
  • Track procurement budgets and support cost-control initiatives within the cosmetics category.
  • Resolve supply chain issues, including delays, shortages, and discrepancies.
  • Prepare periodic procurement reports for management review.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Pharmacy, or related field.
  • 2–4 years experience in procurement, preferably in pharmacy, cosmetics, FMCG, or retail.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and vendor management skills.
  • Good understanding of cosmetic and personal care product categories.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory/procurement systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
