Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified, licensed, and detail-oriented Sonographer / Radiology Officer to join our Radiology Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, including ultrasound and X-ray examinations, while ensuring high standards of patient care, diagnostic accuracy, and compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements.
This role requires a competent professional who is committed to delivering quality diagnostic services within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Diagnostic Imaging Services
- Perform high-quality ultrasound scans and X-ray examinations as requested by physicians.
- Ensure accurate image acquisition to support effective diagnosis and treatment.
- Interpret preliminary imaging findings where required and escalate complex cases appropriately.
2. Patient Care & Safety
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures.
- Clearly explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and cooperation.
- Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety standards and infection prevention protocols.
- Monitor patient conditions during procedures and respond appropriately.
3. Equipment Handling & Maintenance
- Operate radiology and imaging equipment in accordance with manufacturer and safety guidelines.
- Perform routine equipment checks and ensure proper functionality.
- Promptly report equipment faults, malfunctions, or safety concerns.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate patient records, imaging reports, and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including radiation safety and healthcare standards.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and quality assurance processes.
- Uphold patient confidentiality in line with ethical and legal standards.
5. Collaboration & Teamwork
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions where required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) in Radiography, Medical Imaging, or Sonography from a recognized institution.
Professional Certification (Mandatory)
- Must be a licensed Radiographer with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN).
- Valid and current practicing license is required.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years relevant experience in a hospital or diagnostic center.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound and X-ray imaging procedures.
- Proficiency in operating diagnostic imaging equipment.
- Familiarity with digital radiology systems and imaging software.

Work Schedule
