Reports To: Head of Business Development / Regional Business Manager
Monthly Salary: ₦240,000 – ₦390,000 (Based on Experience and Portfolio)
Experience: Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in Deposit Mobilization within a Microfinance Bank (Mandatory).

About the Role

Our client, a reputable Microfinance Bank, is seeking experienced, highly motivated, and results-driven Deposit Mobilization Officers to drive business growth through the acquisition and management of deposit liabilities.

The successful candidates will be responsible for sourcing and mobilizing deposits from High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs), SMEs, corporate organizations, associations, cooperatives, religious institutions, educational institutions, and other key market segments. The ideal candidate must possess an established client network, a strong understanding of liability generation, and a proven track record of consistently achieving deposit mobilization targets within the microfinance banking sector.

Please Note: Previous experience in a Microfinance Bank is mandatory. Candidates without relevant microfinance banking experience will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Deposit Mobilization & Business Development

  • Drive deposit mobilization initiatives to achieve assigned liability growth targets.
  • Source and mobilize deposits from High-Net-Worth Individuals (HNIs), SMEs, corporate organizations, government agencies, NGOs, cooperatives, associations, schools, religious organizations, and other institutional clients.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for growing the Bank's deposit portfolio.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective deposit customers.
  • Identify new business opportunities and convert prospects into long-term banking relationships.
  • Consistently meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual deposit mobilization targets.

Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned liability accounts.
  • Cross-sell the Bank's products and services, including savings accounts, fixed deposits, current accounts, loans, digital banking solutions, and investment products.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service delivery.
  • Retain and grow existing customer portfolios through proactive engagement.

Marketing & Sales

  • Conduct regular marketing visits and business development calls within assigned territories.
  • Organize customer engagement activities and participate in promotional campaigns.
  • Deliver presentations to prospective clients and institutions.
  • Promote the Bank's products and value proposition to target markets.

Portfolio Management & Compliance

  • Monitor customer accounts and ensure proper account maintenance.
  • Ensure all account opening documentation complies with KYC, AML/CFT, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and transaction documentation.
  • Adhere to all internal policies, operational procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly deposit mobilization reports.
  • Maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline and business development tracker.
  • Provide market intelligence on competitor activities and emerging business opportunities.
  • Submit periodic performance reports to management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in Deposit Mobilization within a Microfinance Bank (Mandatory).
  • Demonstrated success in generating and managing substantial deposit portfolios.
  • Proven ability to consistently achieve or exceed liability generation targets.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, deposit products, and customer relationship management.
