Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Procurement Officer to join our team at a leading hospitality and beach resort in Lekki, Lagos. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory of goods and services required for the seamless operation of the resort. This role requires a proactive professional with strong negotiation skills, deep vendor management experience, and a solid understanding of procurement in the hospitality industry.


Key Responsibilities

Supplier Sourcing and Management

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers to ensure quality and reliability.

  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts and pricing agreements.

  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and monitor performance.


Procurement and Purchasing

  • Source and purchase required goods and services, including F&B items, linens, cleaning supplies, and operational equipment.

  • Ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality and budgetary requirements.


Cost Control and Budget Management

  • Monitor procurement expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Ensure procurement activities align with set budgets.


Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records.

  • Monitor stock levels to minimize waste or spoilage and reorder supplies as needed.


Risk Management

  • Identify procurement risks such as delivery delays, quality issues, or price volatility.

  • Implement strategies to mitigate potential disruptions.


Communication and Collaboration

  • Work closely with department heads (F&B, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.) to identify procurement needs.

  • Ensure purchases align with operational requirements.


Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Keep accurate records of purchase orders, invoices, contracts, and supplier information.



Specific Duties in a Resort Setting

  • Food & Beverage Procurement: Ensure consistent supply of ingredients and beverages across outlets.

  • Textiles and Linens: Manage the purchase and replacement of towels, beddings, and textiles.

  • Cleaning and Maintenance Supplies: Procure and monitor supply of cleaning materials and tools.

  • Equipment and Furnishings: Handle procurement of furniture, décor, and fittings.

  • Event Supplies: Source items required for special events and recreational activities.

  • Vendor Performance Monitoring: Evaluate supplier service delivery and adjust relationships as necessary.



Qualifications and Requirements


Education:

  • B.Sc. or HND in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Logistics, or a related field.

Experience:

  • 5 7 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably in the hospitality or resort industry.


Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement tools.

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.


Certifications (Preferred):

  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)

  • Certified Procurement Professional (CPP)


Other Requirements

  • High level of integrity, transparency, and accountability.

  • Sound knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices.

  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
