Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production and Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our manufacturing processes at our Ikeja facility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in production management, operational efficiency, and team leadership. The role involves managing day-to-day production operations, ensuring quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Management:
Oversee the daily operations of the production line to ensure the timely and efficient production of goods.
Develop and manage production schedules to meet company goals while adhering to quality and safety standards.
Monitor production progress and address any issues to minimize downtime and maintain optimal production levels.
- Process Optimization:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction while ensuring product quality.
Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
Work closely with the engineering and quality assurance teams to enhance the production process and reduce operational costs.
- Team Leadership and Development:
Supervise and lead production staff, ensuring they are properly trained and motivated to meet production targets.
Conduct regular performance reviews, offer feedback, and implement training programs to enhance skills and performance.
Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration within the production department.
- Quality Control:
Ensure products meet company standards, quality specifications, and regulatory requirements.
Work with the Quality Control team to address any quality issues and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Inventory and Resource Management:
Oversee inventory levels, ensuring raw materials and components are available to meet production demands.
Work with the procurement team to manage and optimize inventory levels and reduce excess stock.
- Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and present regular reports on production performance, quality metrics, and any operational challenges to senior management.
Ensure accurate documentation of production processes and compliance with industry regulations.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed to maintain a safe working environment.
Regularly monitor the work environment and provide training on safety practices to all team members.
Requirements:
- Educational Qualification:
BSc in Engineering, Industrial Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
MBA in a related field (preferred).
- Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production and operations management within a manufacturing setting.
Strong knowledge of production processes, machinery, and quality control standards.
Proven track record in managing teams, improving efficiency, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Skills and Competencies:
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and process improvement techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
