Job Summary:

We are seeking a Freight Forwarding Operations Manager to lead and optimize our freight and logistics operations. This role requires in-depth industry knowledge, a strategic mindset, and hands-on experience in managing shipments, compliance, vendors, and teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management:
    Oversee import/export/domestic shipments, develop and implement SOPs, ensure documentation accuracy, and monitor shipment timelines.

  • Vendor Management:
    Source and evaluate logistics vendors, negotiate contracts, and monitor vendor performance and compliance.

  • Regulatory Compliance:
    Ensure adherence to all local and international customs and trade regulations; manage customs clearance processes.

  • Cost Efficiency:
    Implement cost-reduction strategies, analyze freight costs, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost per shipment and on-time delivery rate.

  • Team Leadership:
    Lead and mentor a team of freight forwarding professionals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and foster a positive team culture.

  • Issue Resolution:
    Identify and resolve logistical challenges and bottlenecks; implement proactive and corrective measures.

  • Reporting:
    Generate regular reports on freight activities, costs, vendor performance, and maintain accurate records.

  • Collaboration:
    Coordinate with internal teams such as Procurement, Finance, and external stakeholders to ensure operational alignment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field

  • 57 years of experience in freight forwarding, including import/export, customs handling, and vendor management

  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and freight/logistics systems

  • Solid understanding of local and international trade regulations and customs processes

Preferred:

  • FIATA Diploma or other relevant logistics/supply chain certifications

  • Experience working in IT-BPM or freight forwarding environments
