Job Summary:
We are seeking a high-performing Medical Sales Representative with a biomedical engineering background and a passion for sales to drive the promotion and sales of cutting-edge biomedical and diagnostic equipment in Abuja and surrounding territories. The successful candidate will blend technical expertise, solution-based selling, and customer relationship management to grow the client base and exceed revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Business Development:
Identify and engage new business opportunities through field visits, networking, and cold outreach
Present and demonstrate biomedical products to healthcare professionals with clarity and technical depth
Prepare customized proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals with hospitals, labs, and clinics
Consistently meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
Technical Product Knowledge & Support:
Explain complex biomedical product features, applications, and technical specifications to clients
Recommend suitable equipment based on clinical and technical needs
Supervise product installations, user onboarding, and provide basic technical training
Serve as first-line support for post-installation product performance and troubleshooting
Client Relationship Management:
Develop and nurture strong professional relationships with key stakeholders in hospitals, clinics, labs, and procurement teams
Provide after-sales support and ensure excellent customer satisfaction
Act as liaison between clients and internal technical or logistics teams
Market Intelligence & Reporting:
Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and market demands
Provide market feedback to internal teams for product development and marketing strategy refinement
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and company sales standards
Maintain accurate sales records, pipelines, and client databases
Key Competencies & Skills:
Sales Expertise: Track record of closing deals and driving consistent revenue growth
Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of biomedical/diagnostic equipment and healthcare workflows
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and persuasion skills
Customer-Centric: Focus on understanding client needs and delivering value
Negotiation & Influence: Confident in discussing pricing, overcoming objections, and finalizing sales
Time & Territory Management: Ability to plan and prioritize field activities effectively
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
- Education:
B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics/Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
Postgraduate qualifications (e.g., M.Sc., M.Eng.) are an added advantage
- Experience:
Minimum of 2 - 4 years hands-on experience in medical device or biomedical equipment sales
Previous field experience in clinical or hospital environments preferred
Strong knowledge of medical procurement processes and healthcare delivery systems
- Other Requirements:
Must reside in or be willing to work fully onsite in Abuja
Must be open to regular travel within assigned territories
Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work with minimal supervision
Remuneration & Benefits:
Competitive base salary (150,000 - 200,000)
