Executive Assistant to the CEO (Legal Background Preferred)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized, intelligent, and proactive Executive Assistant to provide high-level administrative and strategic support to the CEO of a leading energy company based in Abuja. The ideal candidate must have a background in law (LLB, BL), with proven experience supporting C-level executives and handling confidential and high-stake matters. Prior experience within the energy, oil & gas, or power sector will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive-level administrative support to the CEO, including calendar management, meeting coordination, travel arrangements, and expense reporting.

  • Prepare confidential reports, correspondence, presentations, and legal/commercial documentation.

  • Act as the primary point of contact between the CEO and internal/external stakeholders, including clients, partners, government bodies, and board members.

  • Manage and prioritize an extremely busy calendar, scheduling internal and external meetings, appointments, and strategic engagements.

  • Draft, review, and manage legal, regulatory, and compliance-related documents as needed.

  • Support the CEO in project tracking, research, follow-ups, and timely execution of business initiatives.

  • Coordinate logistics and content for board meetings, AGMs, and other strategic gatherings.

  • Handle confidential business and personal matters with discretion and utmost professionalism.

  • Represent the office of the CEO in internal and external meetings when required.

  • Monitor tasks, deadlines, and deliverables for strategic projects, ensuring alignment with business goals.

  • Support business development, public relations, and investor engagement activities.

  • Ensure prompt communication flow between the CEOs office and all relevant departments.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • LLB and BL from a recognized institution; additional certifications (e.g. MBA, PMP) are an advantage.

  • Minimum of 7 - 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years supporting C-suite executives.

  • Strong understanding or experience within the energy, oil & gas, or power sector.

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and digital productivity tools.

  • High level of integrity, discretion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work under pressure, and deliver in fast-paced environments.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with top-level executives and stakeholders.

  • Strategic thinker with attention to detail and ability to take initiative without constant supervision.
