Position Overview

We are seeking a highly strategic, performance-oriented, and visionary leader to join our organization as General Manager, Commercial. This executive-level role is pivotal in shaping and executing our commercial growth strategy, with a focus on funds mobilization (3 billion quarterly target), revenue generation, client acquisition, and relationship management across diverse investor categories retail, corporate, institutional, and public sector.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong financial services background, extensive experience in mobilizing capital, and a passion for delivering measurable business results.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement dynamic commercial strategies that align with the company's vision and financial goals.

  • Set and monitor commercial targets with a primary focus on achieving a 3 billion quarterly funds mobilization benchmark.

  • Lead strategic planning, forecasting, and budgeting for commercial operations.

Funds Mobilization & Revenue Growth

  • Drive aggressive capital mobilization efforts across retail investors, HNIs, corporates, NGOs, and government entities.

  • Initiate and grow deposit and investment portfolios while ensuring product-market fit and customer satisfaction.

  • Utilize market intelligence to recommend innovative financial products and pricing strategies.

Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key investors, regulatory bodies, and institutional partners.

  • Oversee the delivery of superior client service while ensuring compliance with service standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Serve as the primary executive contact for strategic clients and partners.

Leadership & Organizational Development

  • Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing commercial team with a strong culture of excellence, accountability, and ethics.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with other business units to deliver seamless customer experiences.

  • Champion a continuous improvement mindset across all commercial activities.

Financial Oversight & Reporting

  • Provide timely and data-driven updates to the Board and Executive Committee on fundraising performance, market opportunities, and strategic risks.

  • Collaborate with finance and risk departments to ensure alignment with the company's liquidity and investment strategies.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Quarterly Funds Mobilization Target: 3,000,000,000

  • Growth in Investment Portfolio & Commercial Revenue

  • Client Acquisition, Conversion & Retention Metrics

  • Market Share and Segment Penetration

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Masters degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Relevant certifications such as CFA, ICAN, CIBN or equivalent are highly desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum of 12 years progressive experience in commercial or investment banking.

  • At least 8 years in senior leadership, with a strong track record in capital raising, institutional business development, and stakeholder management.

  • Demonstrated success in achieving large-scale fundraising targets and driving revenue growth.
