Job Purpose
The Business Development Officer is responsible for driving sustainable revenue growth and increasing patient volumes for the Hospital through strategic partnerships, corporate engagements, and institutional collaborations. This role focuses on identifying, onboarding, and managing relationships with HMOs, corporate organizations, NGOs, religious and professional bodies, and referral partners in alignment with the hospitals growth and service expansion objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Growth & Client Acquisition

Identify, prospect, and onboard new HMOs, corporate organizations, NGOs, and institutional clients.

Promote the Hospitals clinical services, diagnostic solutions, wellness packages, and preventive care programs.

Generate new patient volumes through corporate retainerships, referral partnerships, and outreach initiatives.

Support the launch and market penetration of new services, clinics, and revenue streams.

Develop and present tailored proposals and presentations to prospective partners and clients.
2. Relationship & Account Management

Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing HMOs, corporate clients, and referral partners.

Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring smooth communication and timely issue resolution.

Collaborate with internal teams (billing, care coordination, clinical services, front desk) to ensure excellent client experience.

Support contract renewals, SLAs, MOUs, and partnership agreements.

Proactively manage partner satisfaction, retention, and upselling opportunities.
3. Market Intelligence & Strategy

Conduct market research to identify healthcare trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.

Provide actionable insights on pricing, tariffs, service gaps, and client expectations.

Support the development and execution of business development strategies, campaigns, and outreach programs.

Monitor industry developments affecting HMOs, corporate healthcare, and institutional partnerships.
4. Reporting & Documentation

Prepare and submit weekly and monthly business development activity and performance reports.

Track leads, conversions, patient volumes, revenue contributions, and partnership performance.

Maintain accurate records of meetings, proposals, contracts, and signed agreements.

Ensure proper data capture and reporting in line with management requirements.
5. Brand Representation & Outreach

Represent the Hospital at conferences, corporate meetings, outreaches, exhibitions, and networking events.

Strengthen brand visibility and institutional reputation across target markets.

Uphold the hospitals brand values, professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Number of new HMO, corporate, and institutional accounts onboarded

Revenue and patient volumes generated from partnerships

Retention and renewal rate of existing clients and partners

Number and quality of referral and partnership agreements executed

Accuracy, quality, and timeliness of business development reports
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or a related discipline

Minimum of 3–5 years experience in business development, sales, or marketing
-
Prior experience in the healthcare sector is a strong advantage
-
Experience working with HMOs, corporates, NGOs, or institutional clients is highly desirable
