Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and highly committed Medical Officer to join our clinic in Surulere, Lagos. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care while ensuring efficient oversight of day-to-day clinical operations within the facility.

This role requires a patient-centered clinician with strong empathy, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to coordinate and optimize clinical service delivery in a structured outpatient environment. The ideal candidate must demonstrate professionalism, leadership potential, and commitment to maintaining excellent standards of care and patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, examinations, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and manage patient care in line with established clinical guidelines.
  • Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and quality service delivery.
  • Manage outpatient and minor emergency cases promptly and effectively.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans where necessary.
  • Perform minor medical and procedural interventions as required.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential patient medical records.
  • Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention, safety protocols, and clinical best practices.
  • Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare staff to deliver coordinated patient care.
  • Provide patient education, preventive healthcare counseling, and follow-up care.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, empathy, and bedside manner.
  • Support administrative functions where necessary to enhance clinic operations.
  • Participate in clinical audits, case reviews, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or equivalent).
  • Completion of NYSC.
  • Valid practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 2–3 years post-NYSC clinical experience.
  • Proven ability to manage or support clinical operations in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong diagnostic, clinical reasoning, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong patient-centered care approach with high emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to work independently and manage clinical workflows effectively.
  • High level of responsibility, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced outpatient clinical environment.

  • Must reside in or be willing to work in Surulere, Lagos.
  • Willingness to work alternate weekends as part of duty schedule.
