About the job I & CA Technician
1.1 Job Scope Summary
Under general maintenance supervision, the I&CA Technician is responsible to installs, maintaining, and troubleshoots instrumentation, control circuits, and equipment related to energy from waste processes. Support of the facility operation, maintaining the operation of the entire plant in compliance with established production schedules and plant requirements.
1.2 Job Responsibilities
- Performs skilled electrical and technical work, including testing, inspection, and repair of complex mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic instruments used in power generation and EFW processing.
- Installs, maintains, performs PMs, repairs, calibrates, and adjusts any type of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and other industrial instrumentation, analyzers, and scales. Installs, repairs and maintains all power transmission lines, transformers, electrical motors, instruments, controls, and related equipment.
- Maintains Inspects, tests, and adjusts repairs instrumentation of all types of equipment, including but not limited to generators, AC and DC motors, MOVs, turbine controls, DC systems, and all other plant-related auxiliaries.
- Maintains accurate detailed records concerning installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of all plant instrumentation equipment. Keeps all blueprints and OEM manuals in neat and proper order.
- Performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of instrument application, operation, and the electrical and mechanical principles involved in repair, testing, and calibration. Maintains alarms and automatic shutdown systems activated by one or more process variables. PLC and DCS knowledge will be necessary to be able to troubleshoot and analyze logic circuitry, along with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical circuitry.
- Plans details of job assigned, uses sketches, blueprints schematics, and complex drawings. Consults with operations and technical groups on safety procedures and job hazards.
- Attends and participates in scheduled training and safety programs.
- Complies with all company safety regulations and procedures.
- Complies with all National and Local Electrical Codes, completing professional works.
- Follows any assigned shift or schedule
- Attend HSE Inspections, audits, assessments, and meetings
- Conduct Risk identification/analysis/assessments
- Reports promptly any breaches of HSE procedures to supervision/management
- Actively participates in and promotes company health, safety & environmental campaigns, initiatives, policies, and procedures, and ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times

1.3 Educational/Professional Qualifications/Training Certifications
- Bachelors or Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- HSE accredited training qualifications
1.4 Job Experience
- 1-5 years experience as an instrumentation, control, and automation technician, and at least two (2) years experience in the power generation field
- Knowledge of advanced electrical theory, N.E.C., and interpretations
- Knowledge of ISA standards
- Familiar with HSE standards, procedures, and requirements, and control plant operations in a safe and efficient manner
- Advanced knowledge in repair and calibration of transmitters, analyzers, and scales
- Familiarity with DC and other emergency systems
- PLC and DCS understanding and experience.
- Calibration of valves and MOVs
- Knowledge of environmental controls and equipment

1.6 Additional Job skills
- Ability to read and understand P & IDs, instrument installation details, and logic diagrams
- Ability to plan and explain jobs as well as train and help others
- Ability to work on live circuits
