About the job Jr. Mechanical Technician (Good opportunity for fresh/recent Engineer Graduates)
1.1 Job Scope Summary
The Jr Mechanical Technician performs skilled mechanical work such as installing, adjusting, services, and repairs of various mechanical equipment and mechanical parts of electrical machinery utilized in the EfW (Energy from Waste) processing and electrical generating plants. Candidate shall also perform a variety of workshop support tasks.
1.2 Job Responsibilities
Performs a wide variety of mechanical repairs, PMs and fabrication, including pipefitting, rigging, assembly, and disassembly of all types of plant operation equipment, conveyors, piping, pump valves etc.
- Assist details of jobs assigned, develops, and use sketches, blueprints and complex drawings
- Consults with operations and technical groups on safety procedures and job hazards
- Dismantle, overhaul, reassembles, and adjusts, conveyers, turbine, generators, boilers, pumps, valves, and all other auxiliary equipment
- Inspect and lubricates all plant equipment routinely and makes necessary adjustments to ensure that equipment is operating efficiently
- Performs heavy lifting and rigging
- Uses torch and welding equipment to perform repair welding
- Mechanical repairs, piping, and valve packing
- Performs integrity tests on piping and plant equipment
- Works both inside and outside area of the plant
- Works at height (e.g., scaffolding and ladders)
- Maintains work areas in a clean and orderly manner
- Works with and assists team members with a variety of workshop support tasks
- Milling activities
- Lathing activities
- Drilling activities
- Welding activities

1.3 Educational / Professional Qualifications / Training Certifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent certifications
- HSE accredited training qualifications
- Welding Certification
- Milling, Lathing and Workshop Equipment Certification
1.4 Job Experience
- Must have at least 4 years as a Mechanical Technician
- Has abilities in studying blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances, and has knowledge of machine shop procedures, math, machinability of materials, and layout techniques.
- Advanced Skills in Coupling Alignments, Close Tolerance Fitting, Valves, and High-Pressure Steam Systems has demonstrated skills using precision measuring instruments and performs troubleshooting and maintaining valves and high-pressure steam systems.
- Safety understands and uses lock-out procedures; is forklift trained and certified.
- Familiar with HSE standards, procedures, and requirements and control plant operations in a safe and efficient manner
- Must have at least basic knowledge and experience with different materials and welding electrodes
- Must have at least basic knowledge and experience of electric welding and argon welding both on piping and structures
- Must have at least basic knowledge and experience with TiG, MMA (6G Coded pressure parts preferable)
- Must have basic knowledge workshop activities (Milling, Lathing, Drilling etc.)
1.5 Job Experience
