Job Purpose Statement
We are looking for a dynamic and talented General Staff who will support the efficient operation of manufacturing processes by operating machinery and equipment, ensuring production targets are met, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The individual in this position will play a key role in contributing to the overall productivity and safety of the team, ensuring that materials are handled properly, machinery is operated safely, and all tasks are completed in accordance with company standards and safety regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Operational Execution
- Responsible for running the daily operations of the biochar reactor and dryer, ensuring strict adherence to production schedules and operational procedures.
- This role requires maintaining high levels of productivity and efficiency in biochar production, ensuring that production meets company quality standards.
2. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Report any safety concerns, incidents, or potential hazards immediately to the manager. Follow company policies and procedures related to safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
- Consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure it is worn throughout the workday to guarantee safe handling of materials and machinery.
3. Data Collection & Reporting:
- Collect and document required production data based on shared datasheets, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Record any operational issues, equipment malfunctions, and safety concerns using appropriate tracking systems.
4. Quality Assurance
- Conduct operations following internal and regulatory quality and performance standards; ensure the final product meets required specifications.
5. Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production targets and goals.
- Assist other team members as needed to ensure the efficient flow of operations and resolve any production-related challenges.
6. Physical Labor & Material Handling:
- Lift, move, and transport heavy materials and products safely within the facility as required.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of materials in compliance with environmental and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure smooth operations and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
- KCSE score C or equivalent qualification.
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
- Ability to operate machinery and equipment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Physical stamina to lift 25 kgs and move heavy objects as required.
- Basic knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and practices.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing work environment.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
- Should be based and ready to work in Kakamega (Mumias)
