As a Business Developer, you will play a key role in driving growth, expanding our client base, and reaching new markets, supporting our mission to unlock greater opportunities for millions globally.
We currently partner with organizations in over 40 developing countries and aim to surpass our current impact in the next three years.
You'll work within an energetic and forward-thinking team, operating within a company that prioritizes independence, initiative, and individual development. As part of our Sales team, you'll leverage your prospecting, analytical, and negotiation skills to acquire new customers. You'll collaborate with companies across Africa to comprehend and assess their needs, offering tailored solutions to enhance digitalization and streamline daily operations. Additionally, you'll interact with key decision-makers from various sectors daily.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Prospect Relationships: Take ownership of direct relationships with prospects, from initial prospecting to invoicing.
- Networking Events: Represent Solaris Offgrid at networking events, related to essential services markets, with a focus on Microfinance for our new recruit.
- Stakeholder Education: Educate PaygOps stakeholders on industry practitioners to convert them into prescribers.
- Sales Engagement: Collaborate proactively to design outbound strategies and respond to sales-related inquiries.
- Process Design: Co-design processes to ensure they are data-driven and trackable for sales operations.
- Industry Understanding: Develop a deep understanding of the last-mile SaaS market and its stakeholders in the African context through research and networking.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in CRM systems and marketing automation tools, such as Salesforce, Mailchimp, etc
- Extensive knowledge and experience in SaaS platforms like Odoo, Zoho, or equivalent.
- Previous experience in Finance for the BoP a plus.
- Proficient in English; Good notions of French are a plus
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding performance objectives, including revenue and pipeline targets.
- Excellent listening and communication skills, with abilities to engage, ask relevant questions and follow up on conversations with potential customers and partners.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take initiatives and see them through to completion.
- Ability to exercise effective judgment, curiosity, and empathy when conversing with prospects.
- Demonstrating creativity in response to changing needs and situations, while ensuring technical compliance with PaygOps features.
- Passionate about social business and enthusiastic about developing world projects.
