Commercial Manager (Quantity Surveyor)

 Job Description:

She Built IT NI are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager (with Quantity Surveying background) to join our client who is a world leader in energy services based in Belfast. This is a excellent opportunity with an very attractive salary up to £60,000 (depending on experience) This role is a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week with excellent benefits package including car allowance

The successful candidate will be a key member of the NI Management Team, leading the NI Commercial resource within a range of contracts (in excess of £35m per annum. You will work closely with the Regional Director and general senior management team along with the support of the team to provide strategic and contractual guidance to new and existing contacts

The Role:

  • Manage numerous stakeholder relationships including client representatives
  • Support with pricing and tenders
  • Interact with managers of all levels both internally and with clients (Senior level dialogue and communication skills are essential for this role)
  • Oversee all commercial elements of the business. To understand adhere and implement the safety, health, environment and quality policy and strategy
  • Take line management responsibility for QSs within region
  • Lead financial strategy by implementing, monitoring and managing the companies desired approach with QS teams
  • Maximise profit potential on all operational schemes (carry out project reviews etc)
  • Set up and closely manage regional supply chain deals, working with the central procurement department
  • Work with operations manager, RMD and legal department on any potential disputers that can expose the region to risk and manage all profitability reporting for the region, ensure accuracy of financial reporting with all risks and opportunities identified and discussed with the Ops Manager and RMD
  • Close management of supply chain, measuring performance and working with RMD and Bid Teams
  • Ensure sub-contract buying gains are maximized, identifying and managing financial risk to the region, associated with working in new areas and with new suppliers particularly around contract complexities such as TUPE
  • Ensure monthly operational billings are accurate, monitor and manage monthly changes in billing projections and providing reports on major movements
  • Working with Operations Manager carrying out overall financial reports each month, manage cash collection and invoicing of monthly income.
  • Establish accurate cost delivery data within the region, working with estimating teams to ensure real delivery costs are incorporated into live tenders, attend financial adjudication reviews to discuss any potential risks or opportunities at tender stage
  • Manage red flag reports, chase up outstanding issues and report progress to Operations Manager and RMD
  • Adhere to all policies, procedures and compliance within the business

The Requirements

  • Experience within a Senior Surveying / Commercial Management Role
  • Outstanding communications skills
  • Excellent financial acumen, ability to analyse complex data with accuracy
  • Skilled negotiator with proven experience in a commercial environment
  • Excellent understanding of risk analysis and management
  • PC literate with excellent knowledge of Microsoft like Word, Excel, Outlook etc
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of Business Assurance systems
