What are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to support month-end reporting, reconciliations, financial reporting, payroll, and day-to-day accounting operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong Australian accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to analyse financial data, maintain accurate records, and support compliance and financial decision-making.
What are you expected to do?
Manage and support month-end closing and financial reporting processes.
Prepare and review journals, accruals, prepayments, and account reconciliations.
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and ensure transactions are correctly recorded.
Prepare and analyse monthly financial and management reports.
Review revenue, expenditure, balance sheet movements, and financial variances, providing explanations where required.
Monitor cash flow and assist with cash flow forecasting and planning.
Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and ongoing variance analysis.
Provide financial information and analysis to assist management with business and financial decisions.
Support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
Perform and review bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
Process fortnightly payroll and payroll-related reconciliations.
Assist with BAS, GST, year-end reporting, and other statutory and financial compliance requirements.
Reconcile home care funding, claims, client contributions, and Support at Home (SAH) financial transactions.
Prepare and review weekly payment batches and expense reimbursements.
Maintain effective financial controls, procedures, and supporting documentation.
Assist with external accountants, auditors, and other financial reporting requirements.
Review finance processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation.
Provide support and guidance across the broader Finance and Accounts function as required.
You'll be a great fit if:
You have 3–5+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in an Accountant or similar role.
You have a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- You have demonstrated experience with month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
You have a strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, GST, BAS, and taxation requirements.
- You have experience managing or supporting AP, AR, payroll, and general accounting functions.
- You have advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, data analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and spreadsheet management.
- You are proficient in Xero and confident working with other accounting and financial systems.
- You have a strong understanding of financial controls and reconciliation processes.
- You have excellent attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when handling large volumes of financial data.
- You have strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and investigate issues independently.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You have a proactive, reliable, and solutions-focused approach and can work independently and collaboratively.
It would be desirable if:
You have a CPA qualification (not required).
- You have experience in home care, aged care, healthcare, disability, or community services, particularly in a government-funded environment.

Please note: This role is remote; however, we require candidates to be based locally in the Philippines. This is to support occasional onsite activities such as team events, client meetings, or equipment handover. Additionally, local residency is necessary for compliance with Philippines labor laws and employment regulations.
