Freelance Remote: Game Localization Expert (Chinese to Indonesian)

Responsibilities

• Translate game texts including UI, storyline, dialogues, skills, events, announcements, and other related content.
• Proofread and polish localized content (dialogue, UI, item descriptions, tutorials), ensuring fluency, grammar, consistency, and cultural appropriateness.
• Work with the localization team to align content with gameplay and narrative, flag cultural sensitivities, and use CAT tools to maintain translation memories and glossaries.

Requirements

• Native or native-level Indonesian, with excellent Chinese comprehension (HSK 5 or equivalent).
• 2+ year experience in game localization or creative translation (new graduates with portfolio welcome).
• Experience with Trados/MemoQ or similar tools is a plus.
• Strong cultural awareness of Indonesian-speaking markets, attention to detail, self-motivated, able to work remotely/asynchronously.
• Passion for gaming and familiarity with gaming
• Preferred: Familiar with multiple game genres (RPG, SLG, card, shooter, simulation, casual, etc.); Knowledge of Indonesian gamer slang and internet memes.
