Job Summary: The Facility Technician (AV System) is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audiovisual (AV) systems within the facility. This role ensures that all AV equipment operates effectively and efficiently, providing high-quality support for events, meetings, and daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Installation and Setup:

    • Install, configure, and test AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, microphones, video conferencing systems, and display monitors.
    • Set up AV systems for events, meetings, and presentations, ensuring all components function correctly.
  2. Maintenance and Repair:

    • Perform regular maintenance and preventive checks on all AV equipment.
    • Diagnose and repair AV system malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime.
    • Keep an inventory of AV equipment and manage repairs and replacements as needed.
  3. Technical Support:

    • Provide technical support for AV systems during events and meetings.
    • Assist users in operating AV equipment, offering guidance and troubleshooting as needed.
  4. System Management:

    • Manage and update AV system software and firmware.
    • Ensure all AV systems are compliant with safety and operational standards.
    • Maintain detailed records of equipment configurations, maintenance activities, and repairs.
  5. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with event coordinators, IT staff, and other departments to ensure AV needs are met.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand their AV requirements and provide solutions.
  6. Training and Development:

    • Train staff and users on the proper use of AV equipment.
    • Stay updated on the latest AV technologies and best practices, implementing improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in AV systems preferred.
  • Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting AV equipment.
  • Strong technical skills and familiarity with various AV systems and components.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
