General Description of the Programme:
SENED is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit organization licensed and registered in Türkiye with the number 27-15-175. SENED Organization was established shortly after the Syrian Nakba and in response to the suffering of millions of Syrian refugees in Turkey as well as internally displaced people in Syria, with the aim of alleviating suffering, achieving justice, equality, and freedom, strengthening the role of civil society, and supporting and developing the local community. SENED works in the humanitarian work sectors to support, empower, and educate the community through several programs, and takes special care of people with disabilities and their families and defends their issues.
SENED Association emphasizes the need to create safe, accessible, and participation-encouraging living conditions for the emotional, intellectual, physical, and social development of individuals by focusing on the people with disabilities. Beyond the medical perspective on disability, it tries to find solutions to the problems faced by disabled people with a holistic perspective by considering the disabled people, their families, and the society they live in, focusing on the conditions they experience. SENED Association aims to create a safe and supportive environment and space by conducting family-oriented activities to help disabled individuals and their families to become stronger, discover their potential and stand by with their children. By collecting data on refugee disabled people, identifying problems and needs, SENED strives to ensure harmony between disabled refugees and local people with a voluntary, professional team and a community-based approach. In all activities, education, research, advocacy, etc. carried out on platforms created by local and disabled refugee people.
Job purpose:
MEAL Officer is responsible for implementing a functional MEAL system at the both field and office levels. He/she supports the programmes in designing, monitoring and evaluating all projects interventions. Moreover, he/she works with the direct supervisor in the coordination and/or the implementation of projects baseline and evaluations and the implementation of standardized MEAL processes and tools for all sectors at the field level.
Duties, objectives and competencies:
- Supervise monitoring and evaluation part of the projects, ensure data collection, data cleaning and follow-up project indicators.
- Develop methodology, sampling, and tools for the outcome and process monitoring studies, including pre/post-tests, PIMs/PDMs, FGDs, etc.
- Planning field data collection, coordination of data collection, supervising, facilitating, coding tools, developing datasets, data cleaning, analysis, reporting.
- Provide support in training project staff and partners on reporting requirements, core humanitarian standards, output level monitoring and conduct regular training for field staff on data collection and data entry.
- Conduct project site visits regularly and monitors cash-based intervention implementation for quality standards through scheduled visits, data quality audits, and spot checks.
- Ensure that all the feedback & complaints received from communities are recorded/updated timely and accurately in the system and loops closed within the timeline.
- Manage and follow up on financial-related transactions for cash transfer.
Requirements: Essential
- Minimum one to two years of experience in working in a relief or development NGO with a focus on MEAL processes.
- BSc in statistics, community development, accounting, information management, or other relevant discipline is required
Requirements (desired)
- Good working knowledge of statistical packages (Excel, etc.) is required
- Good knowledge of information presentation techniques (graphing, charting, tabling etc.)
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Excellent written English, ability to write excellent quality reports in English is required.
