Position summary: Cooley Information Services (IS) embraces a culture of customer service excellence and all members of the department are expected to move this agenda forward. To that end, the Network Engineer is expected to recognize that the Cooley IS department is a service organization first and foremost and will be evaluated on this requirement equal in importance to the technical or operational responsibilities outlined later in this document.
The Network Engineer, as part of the IS Network Services & Engineering group, is primarily responsible to provide LAN, WAN, and WLAN Tier 3 support during Asia Pacfific hours. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Primary position responsibilities:
Day-to-day technical support of network infrastructure at the Firms datacenters and at firm office premises globally, ensuring a high level of efficiency in problem resolution and uptime
Configure firm LAN, WLAN and WAN environments
Monitor network performance and integrity
Troubleshooting/issue management of firm network infrastructure
Perform network maintenance, upgrades and refreshes
Perform wireless surveys, analyze results and remediation
Manage and support user remote access (Palo Alto Prisma/Global Protect)
Assist with regional office build outs and upgrades
Monitor, measure and analyze data and trends against performance SLAs
Coordinate with and participate in activities with vendors, as required
Provide clear and grammatically correct system and end user documentation, emails, procedures, and status (both verbal and written)
Comply with all department policies, standards and procedures
Participate in Change Control and Change Management
Respond to administrative requests and responsibilities in a timely manner
Assist Management in administrative tasks and vendor management
Other responsibilities: In addition to performance of the primary position responsibilities, the Network Engineer (Asia) may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:
Assist with the deployment and support of systems infrastructure
Participate in Change Control and Change Management
Respond to administrative requests and responsibilities in a timely manner
Assist Management in administrative tasks and vendor management
All other duties as assigned or required
Skills & experience:
Required:
After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm application
Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
Ability to travel, as required
2+ years direct applicable technical years of experience
Hands on experience with Cisco switching, routing and SD-WAN platforms
Hands on experience with PRISMA Access
Hands on experience with Management/troubleshooting of enterprise WiFi
Hands on experience with Management of network monitoring platforms
Knowledge of routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP and OSPF
Produce and analyze packet captures
Knowledge of firewall concepts
Proficient in English both spoken and written
Preferred:
Bachelors degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field
Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls
Experience with Aruba Networks wireless infrastructure
Experience with Network automation tools
Cisco, Palo Alto or Aruba certification
Fluency in Mandarin

Ability to work effectively under pressure, set priorities, handle a number of matters concurrently and in a timely manner, all within a fast paced environment
High levels of organizational skills required to adequately manage projects, monitor numerous live systems simultaneously, ascertain trends which may indicate problems and keep accurate up-to-date records
