About the Opportunity
A growing and established organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role will play a key part in the month-end close process, financial reporting, account analysis, and operational support. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and enjoys working cross-functionally with business leaders to provide meaningful financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in monthly and quarterly close activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Analyze financial information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Prepare management reporting packages and assist with financial statement preparation.
- Review operating results and identify trends, fluctuations, and areas requiring additional analysis.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting questions, investigate discrepancies, and improve reporting accuracy.
- Assist with external audit requests and preparation of supporting documentation.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain supporting schedules for assigned accounts.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives designed to enhance efficiency, controls, and reporting capabilities.
- Support special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Approximately 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience in public accounting, consulting, audit, or a complex corporate accounting environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and communicate findings effectively.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
